These casual restaurants and drinking establishments in or close to downtown San Antonio have festive outdoor spaces where you can enjoy some of the best hospitality and food San Antonio has to offer.
P.S., this list doesn’t even include the many outdoor dining spots along the River Walk. Check back for that list soon.
Noted San Antonio bar operator Jeret Peña opened Brazed as a beer- and whiskey-focused outdoor bar located within Augie’s Alamo City BBQ on Broadway. This neighborhood patio bar in the outer edges of downtown San Antonio offers whiskeys, bourbons, and beers served with elevated BBQ grub such as brisket nachos, brisket sliders, and a selection of sandwiches.

Hours: Open Every day 4 PM- 2 AM except Monday, when it opens at 5 PM and closes at midnight
Burleson Yard offers something for everyone. Table tennis, hammocks, giant flat-screen TVs, live music, plenty of beer and frozen drink choices, even a large play area for kids. Food trucks and plenty of free parking means you can come and enjoy yourself.

This 3,500 square feet space opened in San Antonio’s Westside in October 2020. They offer indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy live music, food from a rotating selection of food trucks, live entertainment most nights, and of course, drinks like beers on tap and in bottles. Try one of their signature wine-based margaritas.

A longtime staple in San Antonio’s Southtown neighborhood, La Tuna Icehouse serves up cold beer and wine on their front outdoor patio, where you can enjoy food and drinks at one of their tree-shaded picnic tables.
Chef Mark Dortman cooks up delicious fusions of Tex-Mex, Seafood, Cajun, and American classics. Their menu of weekly soup specials, fresh salads, and savory burgers and sandwiches means you can find something from a ribeye sandwich to hot iron skillet apple pie with ice cream.

Just north of downtown on Broadway, over 80% of Social Spot’s property is outdoors. They have so many drink options with 17 tap lines, nearly 30 types of beer in cans and bottles, and an award-winning Michelada to boot. The on-site food trucks and a changing lineup of DJs and other entertainment means enough outdoor fun to keep you busy.

This hip indoor-outdoor hangout has plenty of drinks and Japanese ramen and other bites to go with it. All profits go to charities. The Cherrity Bar covers nearly an entire city block. While their small arcade collection is currently closed off, guests can sit in the huge outdoor covered patio area, where each table is given a 10-foot berth on all sides.

Southtown’s largest outdoor food and drink venue has yard seating, eight TVs for outdoor sports viewing, and weekend DJ sets. The Friendly Spot’s menu has enough icehouse food like burgers, tacos, nachos, and the like to keep you fueled as you relax and get friendly.
